Before we get started, though, it's time to gather all your supplies.heart candy mould heart candy mould You'll need a plastic or cardboard mold, some colored beads, toothpicks, cotton swabs, clear or colored liquid or gel candy, plastic bags, scissors, tweezers, a cookie cutter or two and your own imagination. Make sure your container is big enough to hold at least half a pound of candies in a transparent plastic bag. You can find a variety of these in many retail stores or craft shops.

Firstly, we need to prepare the materials. You will need the same materials as I did. If you're not going to use the plastic mold, you will need to buy some pre-cut beads, but it will be a lot less expensive than buying these individually and then having to find the correct size, shape, and color.

Now take out the toothpick and cut a circle that is larger than your heart candies will be. The same goes for your small beads, but you'll need a smaller circle. You should also take into consideration the size and shape of the bag, you're going to fill with the candy. If you're using the clear plastic bags, you may also want to include a small container in the shape of a heart so that you can add the beads or candy and have a clear container ready for the next step.

To fill the bag, you need to take out your tweezers and cut the bag in half. Then carefully slide one of your small and clear beads into the top half of the bag. If you're filling clear plastic bags, you may also want to fill the bag with the colored candy, but you can do this separately. When filling the clear bag, make sure you do this carefully so that you don't put the colored bead inside the plastic bag and cause it to shatter. Use both your fingers and the tweezers to push the beads into the bag so that you don't bump into the sides and ruin the beads.

Once you've put your head in the bag, press down gently against the base of the bag with one hand while you tweeze with the other. Make sure you don't pull the beads out and leave any loose beads on the base of the bag. You can also put your toothpick through the hole in the top of the bag with one hand and slowly slide the toothpick through the bag with the other so that you don't break the candies when you lift them up with the tweezers. If you are using the colored or clear plastic bags, you might want to lay the bag down in the freezer for a few minutes before you remove it from the freezer and pop it in the freezer to set the colored or clear beads inside.
